About the training

BOSIET stands for basic offshore safety induction and emergency training, a course has as objectives to assist in meeting the initial onshore safety training, emergency response training and assessment requirements for personnel new to the offshore oil and gas industry.

Included in the course is the Helicopter Underwater Escape Training(HUET), Emergency First Aid, Sea Survival, Firefighting, self-rescue and TEMPSC (lifeboat) training.

The participants who took part in this safety course had nothing but praiseworthy phrases in relation to the training session they undertook.

Mr. Elliot SYCAMORE- Executive, Operations Manager at the Africa operations office who hails from New Zealand and has more than 30 years of experience in On/Offshore safety,closely supervised the practical phase held at the Africa Operations headquarters in (Victoria)now Limbe and who equally coordinates 80 to 95 trainees every week from different companies for training, on his part said,he wasn’t surprised with the level of awareness of Weatherford’s trainees, “I am particularly impressed because it goes a long way to make me understand this engineers are endowed with safety measures offshore.”
